10 Surefire Signs Of Underperforming Consulting Collaterals

The date was 331 B.C. Alexander the Great had just beaten the living daylights out of Darius III’s Persian army on the plain of Gaugamela, and was ready to move on to vanquish the next enemy.

Paying attention to the grapevine, future enemy forces sooner or later discovered that Alexander’s army had this nasty habit of winning and it wasn’t a good idea to be on the losing side for various inconvenient reasons.

So rumour quickly started about Alexander’s success, and people soon started embellishing and exaggerating the Macedonian army’s victories and that it’d never lost a battle.

So, many of Alexander’s enemies just quietly submitted to his will without a fight. All in all, previous successes had positioned Alexander’s army as undefeatable.

Yes, it was a great army with highly dedicated and skilled soldiers, so they could deliver the goods, but their reputation preceded and positioned them as an army that other armies had better run away from very far and very fast.

So, the general view was not to mess with the Macedonian army and just quietly accept defeat. And just as rumours and the grapevine positioned the Macedonian army, so should good collateral materials position consulting firms.

And excellently or poorly, they certainty do. And depending on this positioning, different consultancies receive different treatment from buyers.

Some are regarded as respected and sought-after industrial authorities and get treated like royalty, and some are regarded as fungible vendors and treated like dreaded peddlers with disdain and disrespect.

And this is what we discuss in this month's terrifyingly tremendous episode of Commando Consulting, entitled, 10 Surefire Signs Of Underperforming Consulting Collaterals.

Enjoy!
